Descrizione

I maschi possono raggiungere i 200 cm di lunghezza totale e 71 kg di peso. Si nutre di pesce, granchi, gamberetti e vermi. In Sud Africa è predato da Argyrosomus hololepidotus, Lychees AMIA e Arctocephalus pusillus.

Diffusione

Oceano Indiano: Madagascar, Australia, India, Iran e Mauritius. È un pesce dal clima subtropicale e demersale (13 °C-24 °C) che vive fino a 400 m di profondità.
